| Check your childrens outside toys prior to letting them play | | A friend of mine sent me an email of her childs riding toy, curled up inside the coils was a venomus snake.. Imagine the horror had the child found that snake and not the adult.
With the onset of summer lots of critters will be coming out to play. Prior to letting your little critters play make certain that there are no dangerous critters out there that can harm your children. Also if you have not played on your play set in a while make certain that nothing needs to be repaired on it. | |
| | Ride on toys...how old? | | I don't mean the pedal kind, just the little ones the child sits on and uses their feet to roll along. I'm just wondering how old your kids were able to use them.People with babies near my youngest son's age are absolutely amazed that he can scoot around on his so well at 18 months...their babies can't move their's at all or can only go backwards while mine goes forward, backward, slow, fast, anywhere he wants to go. He's been able to move on his since he was just over 13 months old (he got it for Christmas and was riding it the same day).So I don't mean to be bragging or putting down other babies but I never really thought it was that unusual for them to be riding at this age so I don't know what to think. Is mine "advanced" or is it the other babies who are behind? How old were your babies able to use a ride on toy? | |

| Did you go through your kids' toys to check for lead? | | Have you been to the website with all the toys listed for recalls? There were toys being recalled for lead and other faults. Well, we had a bit of a scare with lead recently and I went to this site and the list is ridiculously long. I went through a lot of the list and found a couple of things we owned that had warnings on them. I was irrate! What about things that aren't on the list like older toys? Well, I hope thigs change a bit because I think a lot of us have had it. We try so hard to protect our kids. We should not have to worry about the toys and crayons we give them. Did you find anything on the list that you got rid of? | |
| | What do they ride? | | What do your kids like to ride? Do they have bicycles, or tricycles? Do they have scooters or roller skates or roller blades? Do they have motorize toys like Power Wheels or electric scooters? My kids all have bikes or trikces and also they each have a scooter. We do have 2 power wheel type toys for the younger kids too. They love being outside and playing with their riding toys now that the weather is pretty out! What do your kids do outside now that the weather is pretty? | |

| Cross your fingers that Fay stays AWAY! | | As some of you know SwtJenLove and I live in south central Florida so we've been keeping an eye on Tropical Storm Fay who's planning to bring us some weather by Monday night and into Tuesday. Whether Fay will be a tropical storm or a hurricane by the time she reaches us won't be known until after she crosses over Cuba and interacts with warm water again. Her exact track won't be known until probably tomorrow night or sometime on Monday. So, today we began our hurricane preparations. Jen and I picked up some last minute things at the store while the guys made sure both yards were free of anything that could blow around. Tomorrow I have to fill up my truck, get some cash from the bank and get one of the extra propane tanks for the grill filled. The patio furniture, riding mower and the kids' riding toys will be put away in the garage and the grill will be strapped to the deck railing. The bike trailer will be strapped to the boat's trailer so it doesn't go anywhere. We have no idea who has our big cooler so locating that will be my husband's job on Monday...it's a popular loaner so one of the relatives has it.My grandson starts school on Monday but they'll probably close on... | |
