Southern Cream Gravy
INGREDIENTS:
1/4 cup bacon or sausage,
drippings
1/4 cup self-rising flour
1 cup milk
1 cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
DIRECTIONS:
Combine drippings and flour
in a large heavy skillet.
Cook over medium heat until
color is pale brown. Stir in
milk, water, salt and pepper.
Cook until thickened, stirring
constantly.
Yield: 2 cups
*Can use milk in place of water
if desired.
